Who is Halil Umut Meler?

Halil Umut Meler was born on August 1, 1986 in Selçuk district of Izmir. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Izmir. He graduated from Kütahya Dumlupınar University, School of Physical Education and Sports.

Halil Umut Meler started to referee since 2004. He has been carrying the FIFA badge since 2013.

Halil Umut Meler managed many matches in the Super League, Turkish Cup and UEFA Europa League. In 2023, he was attacked by Ankaragücü President Faruk Koca for his decisions in the Ankaragücü-Göztepe match.
